Boys Program

Beginning and Intermediate/Advanced Technique — Designed Exclusively for Boys

Westside School of Ballet’s Boys Program provides specialized training in a supportive, boys-only environment while following the same progressive classical ballet syllabus as the school’s co-ed program. Boys Ballet A aligns with Level I, Boys Ballet B with Level II, and Boys Ballet C with Level III, ensuring that students develop a strong technical foundation and a clear pathway for continued advancement.

Classes emphasize proper posture, alignment, coordination, strength, athleticism, classroom etiquette, port de bras, foot articulation, flexibility, and musicality while building confidence, discipline, and a strong understanding of classical ballet technique.

All boys are encouraged to take co-ed ballet classes in addition to their boys-only classes, using the Boys Program as valuable supplemental training. As students advance, their training increasingly incorporates the strength, elevation, coordination, and movement qualities required of male dancers.

Beginning with Boys Ballet C, which aligns with Level III, students may be eligible to participate in Westside Ballet’s annual Nutcracker and Spring Showcase performances. To perform, students must also be enrolled in the appropriate co-ed ballet classes while continuing their training in the Boys Program.

Placement is based on each student’s skill level, technical development, and readiness.
