Academy

Westside School of Ballet is organized into three divisions—Primary Division, Lower Division, and Upper Division—creating a clear pathway for students to grow from their first ballet class through pre-professional training. While each division is tailored to the developmental needs of its students, all are united by the same artistic mission, curriculum, and commitment to excellence under the guidance of our Artistic Director and faculty.

Performance is an essential part of the Westside experience. All registered students in the Lower Division (Pre-Primary through Level II) participate in the annual Year-End Demonstration Performance, celebrating their progress and achievements. Students in the Upper Division (Levels III–VII) perform in Westside Ballet’s annual productions of The Nutcracker and the Spring Gala & Showcase as part of our nonprofit performing company, Westside Ballet of Santa Monica. Participation is required for Levels III–VII.

Together, these three divisions provide a comprehensive and supportive training environment where students develop technique, artistry, discipline, and confidence at every stage of their dance journey.
