About WSB’s Boys Ballet Program

Boys Registration 25/26 Now Open

Ages 5-19.

Boys Ballet classes emphasize posture, alignment, proper execution, fundamentals, port de bras, strength, and classroom etiquette. Includes attention to foot articulation and usage, and some stretching.

All boys are encouraged to attend Jazz for a well-rounded dance experience.

These boys-only classes promote the knowledge and practice of ballet, with an emphasis on proper alignment, coordination and athleticism. While the basic syllabus is the same for beginning male and female students, the contrast between male and female dancing is increasingly emphasized as a student progresses.

To qualify for our Nutcracker and Spring Performance at BroadStage, boys ages 8 (Level 3) and above must additionally attend a full-time schedule of co-ed classes. Boys may evaluate for these classes in an age appropriate level. 

Boys’ tuition is offered free of charge, with a $75 registration fee. Additionally, tuition for the 2024 Summer Intensives (ages 7-19) is offered free of charge.

Schedule:

Boys A (ages 5-7 per evaluation*) Saturdays 1:15-2:15pm / Sundays 12:45-1:45pm

Boys B (ages 8 and up, per evaluation) Saturdays 2:15-3:15pm / Sundays 1:45-3:00pm

Boys C (ages 11 and up, per evaluation) Fridays 4:15-5:30pm / Sundays 3:15-4:30pm

*All new boys without previous experience seeking admittance to the Boys Program must evaluate in Boys A.

  • White Eurotard Microfiber Crew Neck T-Shirt (WearMoi also acceptable)
  • Black Capezio Tactel Shorts with seams
  • White Freed of London Socks
  • White Ballet Shoes (WearMoi, Angelo Luzio, or Bloch preferred)
  • Black Capezio Full Seat Dance Belt

Boys B & C Dress Code

  • White Eurotard Microfiber Crew Neck T-Shirt (WearMoi also acceptable)
  • Black Capezio Tactel Transition or Footless Tights (WearMoi also acceptable)
  • White Freed of London Socks
  • White Ballet Shoes (WearMoi, Angelo Luzio, or Bloch preferred)
  • Black Capezio Full Seat Dance Belt or Standard Performance Dance Belt 

Items can be purchased with a 10% discount at The Ballet Shop, located directly next door to the studio.
